Individual people play an important role in building a more sustainable and just future.
That being said, there are inherent issues within our current systems that make eco-friendly choices more or less accessible to different people — and it should not be that way. Simply put, not everyone has the resources to put sustainability at the forefront of their decisions.
Additionally, the burden of sustainability cannot fall exclusively on the shoulders of consumers. Companies also need to be held accountable for their environmental footprint. Especially when over 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions can be traced back to just 100 companies!
To build a truly sustainable and socially-responsible future, companies, policy-makers, and individuals alike will need to work together to reduce our collective environmental impact.
If you’re here, maybe you feel the same way — so, cheers to being a bit greener everyday!
